Bus Service Elimination Planned (45 seconds)

The university has decided to discontinue its free bus service for students. The reason given for this decision is that few students ride the buses and the buses are expensive to operate. Currently. the buses run from the center of campus past university buildings and through some of the neighborhoods surrounding the campus. The money saved byeliminating the bus service will be used to expand the overcrowded students parking lots.

what the man is saying here is that.. hmm he wants to keep the bus services and..for the better being of the all the students on campus.

Because..hmm then.. the..there's some students that can't afford a car.. therefore they use the free bus service, even though it's not that much.

The problem the bus service right now.. is that the bus's going through.. hmm wrong neighborhoods or it's too expensive for students to live.

So what they should do is just hmm.. change the course of the bus and that will take care of its problem.

hmm..aslo they should encourage much more students to use the bus instead of..  discourage them or read the case if they use of money that they use for.. the bus service to..increase the space of parking lots for students. hmm..

which would add to the noise to the campus and be more conjested(condensed) for all the people who're already parking over there...

The speaker gives a clear and coherent response that is detailed and accurate. 

He speaks quickly, but this does not prevent him from being understood.

He very clearly states the man's opinion and summarizes the man's reasons for having that opinion.

He uses complex grammatical structures and a wide variety of apporopriate vocabulary.

As a result, his speech seems to flow automatically.

3. 清楚地表達conversation中男生的意見,並摘要他的理由。

4. 使用複雜的文法結構,(不建議這樣模仿)

這位speaker是OG example中說話速度最快的一位,

而Rater也覺得他講話速度也過快了,索性速度並沒影響發音,依然可以讓人聽得懂。

事實上,用不著說這麼快,只要將該說的說出來就好了,

根據OG,NO.3這題要做的工作有,

(1) 描述 announcement

(2) 說明 speaker的態度

(3) 摘要 speaker的理由與supporting detail

 

 

同時,也跟no. 1~2 一樣,

注重 流暢度內容發展完整、有邏輯

雖然整個回答中沒有直接描述,

但很明顯的,該位speaker知道這個announcement的內容。

 

(2) 說明 speaker的態度嗎?

在第一句的時候,他說了「 he wants to keep the bus services and..for the better being of the all the students on campus. 」

此外,OG中也建議一開始就表達speaker的態度唷。

其中一段主題在講route

細節是,bus route的方向錯誤了,它經過的是高級社區,所以沒有學生搭乘。

第二段的主題在講 driving car

細節是,廢掉bus,會鼓勵學生開車進來,會製造噪音,且需要更多的車位。

 

這位回答者,除了第一點是自己掰的外,

其他部份摘要了conversation中所提供的reason與details

不僅完整、且正確。

這是也他會被評價為high level的原因。

 

在no.3的答題中,不可以隨意增添自己的意見,

得按者reading 與 conversation中的內容來講的,

所以,在這個example中其實講「students can't afford a car」是錯的。

The man think the university's decision is wrong. According to his opinion, the bus shouldn't be eliminited(eliminated). It clea(causes) a lot of trouba(troubles or problems).  

And he tins(thinks) bascially the bus route should be changed.

Due to the.. due to the existing bus route, many student can't everly to afford the bus.

And.. the.. overcrowd(overcrowded) parking lots is added problem which is also due to the.. hmm.. not riding the university bus.

If.. if.. the student takes(??that) ifen the god(hasn't a car), and if they can not afford ke no ef(?? ) the bus. Then few student se(?? are) bound to drive that there are(car) and obviously overcrowed(overcrowded) parking lot .

But it's better to meet the jint(?? change) of the bus route and hmm.. most of student should use the.. 

 

 

mid-level

The speaker's first language moderately influences her pronunciation, intonation, and pacing.

This crates some listener effort.

She provides content that is relevant to the task, but her liminations in language use hinder her ability to accurately convey relevant details.

She fills the entire time with understandable speech.

However, She incorrectly repeats throughout the response time that students cannot afford to ride the bus.

She also says that few students will drive cars and overcrowd the parking lots.

This creates confusion for the listener. The speaker never mentions the man's concern about increased noise and traffic on campus.

 

整理

1. 說話者講了整個時間

    且母語有稍微影響,使得聽者需要比較費力,但卻是可以讓人聽懂得

2. 使用字彙使用上有限,使的speaker無法清楚表達detail

3. 文法使用上,雖然有不少錯誤,還好不太影響句意。

4. 講錯了 detail

   比方說學生並不是付不起公車費,而是付不起買車錢,還有其他的地方也是錯很多

5. 漏掉了一些detail

並沒有直接的提到,

但可以推論的出來,這位作答者知道annoucement是關於學校要取消bus的。

她在第一句時說了:「The man think the university's decision is wrong.」

表明了speaker的態度。

她講錯了一些detail,也了漏掉了一些detail

雖然supporting details的部份,錯了一大半,

但她基本上有提出「route」與「driving car」這兩個reason來,

所以她講錯這麼多,還是有mid level唷。
