聯想:

我們之前有談過字根cess是"走"or"讓步"的的意思,比方說process

但是這邊的cess卻是從cease"停止"變過來的。

但我們還是可以用聯想法來背這個字,

in + cess(走) + ant "在走的狀態"-->不停的,連續的

聯想:inch + oat(麥片) + e "麥片緩慢地成長"->還在長->剛開始的、未發展完成的

字源:inchoate,是從"將牛軛放在牛上"的意思演化而來的,簡單的說就是要開始耕田囉~。

ps.1 incident 的整體概念是,一個獨立的事件,它看起來是不重要的,但是有可能演變很嚴重的事故。比方說,某甲插隊,然後某乙用髒話罵某甲。到這邊可以稱為一個incident,目前看起來事情還沒怎樣,但有可能幾天後某甲帶人來堵某乙..。所以incident有"事件"的意思、也有"插曲"的意思。

ps.2 incident 與 event意涵上是有不同的唷,incident通常有負面意味,而event卻正反都可以,你可以說促銷活動是個event,但說incident就會比較奇怪。

adj.易發生的;伴隨而來的 [likely or apt to happen]

ex. the risks are incident to the life of a racing driver.
風險伴隨者賽車手的生活而來。

這個字incite,指的是"引起動作",可以用於任何的種類,好或外都可以。

* arouse 多用於搖醒潛在的意識

* provoke 有"挑戰"、"激怒"的意味
