ps.比方說聲音的傳遞就需要medium--也就是像空氣、水之類的東西。

Usage note:

字源上的關係，media 是 medium 的複數形， media被用來指單一個獨特的溝通方式。

但media 被看作是集合名詞，可以用單數與複數都可以。

如果你想強調多個，就把media當複數來使用，比方說：

ex. The media have covered the trial in a variety of formats.

而一般的情況，我們會使用單數形而已，指的是"整個媒體"。

ex. The media has not shown much interest in covering the trial.

要注意的是，media當媒體時可以用單複數都沒關係，但是medium就有差了。

The singular medium cannot be used as a collective noun for the press.

No medium has shown much interest in covering the issue

medium的意思為，介質、溝通方式。

medley

n.混雜 [ a mixture, esp. of heterogeneous elements; hodgepodge; jumble.]

ex. a medley of different nationalities .

n.【音】混合曲,集錦 [a piece of music combining tunes or passages from various sources]

ps.medley為好幾首歌串連一起唱，比方說第一首歌唱完後，接著第二首歌，中間有時候會有overlapping。這在pop music中滿常見的，而以歌曲的形式比較多，純樂器的形式比較少。

ps. pastiche可以指文學作品的一種方式、音樂的形式，它是一種模仿別人的作品的創作方式，有些是為了挖苦，有些也是為了敬仰。比方說，當Arthur Conan Doyle(亞瑟.柯南.道爾)在寫Sherlock Holmes(夏洛克‧福爾摩斯)的故事的時候，就很有多的pastiches出現了。

字源：原來是指一種pie，由很多的原料所組成的。

meek

adj.柔順的 [ humbly patient or docile, as under provocation from others.]

ps.就是安靜、斯文型的, 方大同的感覺

ex. The little girl is as meek as a lamb.
那個小姑娘像羔羊一般溫順。

adj.無骨氣的 [ overly submissive or compliant]

聯想：雙腳一一(ee) k他，他也不會生氣，真是個 meek person.

meet

v. 遇見;碰上 [to come together, face to face; encounter]

ex. I'm going to meet him on the street at 6.

adj. 適當的 [suitable; fitting; proper.]

ps. melodrama 是一種戲劇的形式，它使用主題音樂來操作觀眾個心理反應，並利用音樂來分類角色。雖然現代的電影中已經大量地使用這種方式，但是在melodrama中音樂使用的方式更為固定，比方說主角or英雄進場時，就會響起高昂的角號、戰歌、英雄式的音樂，同時主角永遠是好的正義的，而壞人是壞的，壞人進場時會響起灰暗的和弦。
